| Nestleton Man Charged With Mischief A Scugog Township man has been charged after allegedly making a false report to police. On Tuesday, June 17th, 2008 the accused reported to police that a Port Perry businessman had just assaulted him. The assault allegedly took place at a Port Perry business after several e-mails were exchanged between the two parties earlier. Investigators from the 15 Division (North Durham) Criminal Investigative Branch (CIB) looked at the incident and interviewed a number of people. As a result of this investigation, police believe the complainant actually assaulted the Port Perry businessman. Colin KEMP, age 64 of Highway 7 in Nestleton (Scugog Township) is charged with Public Mischief He was released on conditions not to contact the businessman any further. Durham Regional Police would like to remind citizens that falsely reporting a crime is, in fact, a criminal offence and consumes valuable police resources. Anyone with new information about this investigation is asked to contact D/Sgt. Herb Curwain of the 15 Division CIB at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 2674.
