Serious Motor Vehicle Collision in Pickering

A 33-year-old Pickering man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a two-vehicle collision last evening in Pickering.

On Thursday July 15, 2010 at approximately 7:47 p.m., officers from West Division were called to Kingston Road west of Liverpool Road, in Pickering to investigate a two-vehicle collision involving serious injuries.

A Dodge Ram travelling westbound on Kingston Road collided with a Ford Focus travelling eastbound which had swerved into oncoming traffic. The 33-year-old driver of the Ford Focus was rushed to Ajax-Pickering hospital with injuries believed to be life-threatening, however, his medical status was later downgraded to moderate and he was later released from hospital following medical treatment. The driver of the Dodge Ram received minor injuries and was also transported to hospital for medical treatment and later released.

Collision investigators from the Traffic Services Branch were called and the roadway was closed for several hours to collect evidence and conduct their investigation. The investigation is ongoing.
