UPDATE
- Four Males Shot in Ajax
An 18 year-old Ajax male responsible for
a shooting last week is now in police custody.
On Saturday, August 30th, 2008, officers
from the Ajax/Pickering Criminal Investigate Branch assisted by the
Tactical Support Unit (TSU) and the K-9 Unit attended an address on
Devine Drive in Whitby and arrested an 18 year-old male.
Anthony Green, age 18 of Devine Drive
in Whitby is facing 18 Criminal Code charges including Aggravated Assault
x4, Weapons Dangerous, Pointing a Firearm and Discharging a Firearm
with Intent.
The investigation is on going.

Durham Regional Police are investigating
after four males received gunshot wounds outside an Ajax residence early
Saturday morning.
On Saturday, August 23rd, 2008 at approximately
12:45 a.m., officers from 19 Division (Ajax/Pickering) were dispatched
to Harkins Drive (Rossland Road/Church Street) in Ajax after several
gunshots were heard outside a residence.
Witnesses reported that they heard gunshots
outside the residence and saw several vehicles leaving the area. Attending
officers discovered that at least four males had received non-life threatening
injuries as a result of being shot. All four had made their own way
to an area hospital for treatment. All were treated and released.
Witnesses reported that there was a large
group standing outside a house party on Harkins Drive shortly before
the shots were heard.
Investigators located evidence of the shooting
but no arrests were made. Investigators do not believe that this was
a random act.
